New city, new layers in my wardrobe, and a lot of new beginnings – winter 2025 hits different in so many ways.
As the cold settled in, I found myself reaching for pieces that feel equal parts cozy and powerful – faux leather jackets, delicate lace details, and chunky knits that make winter feel a little less… heavy.
In-between unpacking boxes in a new Jersey City 2-bedroom and discovering corners of this cute city I didn’t know existed, I’ve been thinking a lot about how my style choices reflect bigger shifts happening in my life, sanity and the world.
One brand that has been a quiet constant for me lately is THE LACE, a Ukrainian label that somehow gets it exactly right — soft, romantic, but structured enough to wear every day. Their pieces feel like a love letter to femininity, without being over the top. Think dreamy blouses, subtle detailing, and silhouettes that move with you. Every time I wear “Made in Ukraine”, I’m reminded of why supporting UA creators matters more than ever — it’s not just about fashion, it’s about identity, resilience, and beauty in chaos.
On this blog, we talk about ethical fashion, brands and trends transforming the industry and we also support Ukraine – quick break to donate $5!
Support the Armed Forces of Ukraine through donations for tactical & military aid.
Support the Armed Forces of Ukraine through financing purely defence initiatives.
Support my hometown – Sumy. Money raised is used to support territorial defenses.
Support a volunteer association “Zgraya” – helping soldiers, civilians & animals.
Donate to purchase medicine to send to wounded soldiers & hospitals on the front lines.
This winter especially, I’m opting for faux – faux fur, faux leather, all of it. Trends are cool and all but I to be completely honest here, wearing real animal skins makes me nauseous. Event vintage… But there’s real power and strength in making the right shopping decisions. In knowing you can build a gorgeous, personalized wardrobe without causing harm – last priority when it comes to consumerism and our global capitalist society. Plus, the quality of faux materials now? Insanely good. Half the time you can’t even tell the real from not-so-much, and honestly, choosing kinder options somehow makes getting dressed feel a little lighter too.
