If you’ve followed me for a while, you already know I’ve raved about this Ukrainian brand for years. Naturally, one of their vyshyvankas made it into my suitcase – and into the pink city.
The piece? A lightweight, romantic pink embroidered dress that felt made for the streets of Jaipur. I wore it during our visit to the iconic City Palace, and I swear it made me feel like a modern-day maharani. The bright pastel tone popped beautifully against the blush-toned architecture – Jaipur’s palette and Etnodim’s vibe are a match made in heaven.
Etnodim always strikes that balance between Ukrainian heritage and modern minimalism, and this vyshyvanka was no exception.
Of course, I couldn’t visit India without honoring its fashion traditions. I packed three sarees for this trip – all by an Indian brand Kalki Fashion.
Kalki’s pieces blend classic silhouettes with modern touches – think metallic borders, pastel organza, and updated draping techniques. These aren’t the heavy, brocade-packed sarees of wedding lore, they’re wearable, breathable, and beautiful. And while I’m no pro at tying a saree, each look still felt authentic and functional (with the help of a few safety pins, let’s be real).
Wearing a saree in India felt more than symbolic. It was immersive – the pink sequin piece in this post is probably my favorite.
Aside from a pair of white Converse I danced in at our own wedding + a pair of flip flops, all my Jaipur shoes were from Rothy’s. And thank God.
If you’ve ever run across a chaotic intersection in India or climbed the uneven stone paths of a fort in 90% humidity, you know comfort isn’t optional. My Rothy’s flats and sneakers held up beautifully. They were lightweight, breathable, and kind of cute even when coated in desert dust.
And best of all? When I got back home, I tossed them in the wash and they looked brand new. I’m not even exaggerating – both mine and Matt’s white Rothy’s were as if just taken out of its original packaging. Major sustainability points – I won’t be buying any new summer footwear in quite some time.
