SPOTLIGHT ON: Ayani / VEPSI

I decided to keep the series of posts from our 2019 Paris trip heavy on the visuals, light on the education… But you know I’m not letting you leave here without some interesting new information, so Iā€™ll be breaking down each of the outfits I wore on this trip because each one has a great story, an amazing ethical designer or a cool sustainable label behind it.

Starting with this gorgeous chili red dress.

This shoot is done in collaboration with VEPSI, an online marketplace for sustainable brands all around the world / an ambassador program for bloggers and influencers to be the voice of change in the fashion industry today. VEPSI is committed to empowering brands that check off all the ethical brand boxes: respecting human rights, protecting the environment, using vegan / cruelty-free materials PLUS being transparent about the full production process. You can find a cool variety of brands on VEPSIā€™s e-shop that are not only unique and modern but also 100% ethical.

ā€œThings have changed. Conscious consumerism is not just a trend. It’s happening now. It’s the future. Be the hero of this change.ā€

Ayani is the sustainable brand behind this gorgeous dress (also can be found on VEPSI). The brand is headquartered in Berlin and ethically produced in a small family-owned factory in Armenia. Ayaniā€™s items are made to last over 30 washes (50+ for this dress) and are, in general, very classic silhouettes that would be flattering for a variety of body shapes, making them even more practical in your closet. The overall style of the brand, I would say, is “an elegant woman at the office”, but the dresses can also be dressed down for something low key like a casual summer night out. Practicality is a super important factor of a sustainable wardrobe: by investing in more timeless, comfortable and durable pieces, we are guaranteed to re-wear them more often and keep them in our closets for a very long time.
